An LD round involves 2 debaters normally from different schools. During competition debaters take an affirmative or negating stance as stipulated by contest directors. Debaters rely heavily on critical thinking and argument analysis. Debaters are required to offer a “value” gained from their proposition and a “value criterion” to measure the plausibility of their proposition. LD debate is based more or theory and has philosophical background.
